SHIRT PROVENANCE : Northern Ireland used this white collared shirt for their three matches during the 1980 British Home Championships, a tournament they won for only the second time in 96 years. The Northern Irish fielded an unchanged side for all their three games against Scotland, England and Wales. Manchester United defender JIMMY NICHOLL would have worn this #2 shirt, possibly in all the matches. So this is piece of Irish football history and should really be in a museum. The shirt has the classic vintage design with N.
Irish FA team badge and old school Trefoil EMBROIDERED on the front. There is the feint outline of the #2 on the back, which has now come off this 40 year old vintage item.
It is in good vintage used condition with no noticeable faults, except the age related discolour of the white colour and the faded back number. Label size is not visible and the actual measurements are armpit to armpit 50cm and top of shoulder to bottom at the back 77cm.
So it is suitable for a slimfit MEDIUM if you wish to wear it. A very rare piece of vintage Northern Ireland Football memorabilia.PART OF MY PERSONAL COLLECTION OF FOOTBALL SHIRTS.
